Before School - Early Birds is run and managed by Southcott School. It operates from 7.50am each morning and each session is charged at £2.80 (£2.20 for siblings attending the same session). This is regardless of whether your child arrives at 7.50am or 8.30am. It is open to any child who attends Southcott Lower School in the mornings, whether they are full or part-time and runs during term time only. You do not need to pre-book.
Children are welcome to bring a snack to eat at Early Birds as breakfast is not supplied.
Parent/carers bring the children into the school hall where they can enjoy a wide range of play equipment and activities. For the last few minutes of the session, children watch a video to settle them down prior to the start of the school day. Year 1-4 children walk to their classrooms from the hall at 8.45am where their teacher will be waiting. Nursery/Reception children stay with a member of staff until 8.55am when they are escorted to their classrooms and handed over to their class teacher. Please note -
After School - Night Owls is run and managed by Southcott School. It operates from 3.30pm to 6pm each evening and needs to be booked in advance, although this can be done on the day required ideally before 12 noon. Each session is charged on a half hourly basis at a cost of £4.50 per hour. The charge for collection after 6pm is £5 per 5 minutes.
Children are offered a biscuit when they come into Night Owls and a light snack at around 4.30pm.
Children can go directly from their classroom to Night Owls, or can be collected from one of our extra-curricular activities. Invoices are sent out on a weekly basis and are payable on receipt. Please note that, should your child attend an extra-curricular activity and then go to Night Owls, you will be charged for the time spent at the club as your child will effectively be taking a space at Night Owls that cannot be offered to someone else.
During the school day – Pre-school for 3 to 4 year old children is run and managed by Southcott School. We offer a morning session (9.00am to 12noon) and an afternoon session (12.15pm to 3.15pm) with 20 places in each session. Children can stay all day from 9.00am to 3.15pm. From the term after the child’s 3rd birthday, parent/carers are entitled to 15 hours childcare each week; or 30 hours for working parent/carers who meet specific criteria. Non-funded hours are charged at £4.50 per hour, £13.50 for a 3 hour session. Invoices are sent out on a half-termly basis.
