Governors

Welcome to the Governor Pages!

At Southcott Lower School the Governors play an important role in our School Community, representing the public in the running of the school and bring in perspectives from outside school life. Together with the Headteacher they set the future direction for the school through the School Development Plan and decide how the school’s budget should be spent. They monitor the impact of policies, ask searching questions and provide support for the Headteacher. Governors also report to parents on the school’s achievements; respond to inspection recommendations; hear appeals from pupils and staff, and consider complaints.

The Governing Body meets at least once each term.  Governors also serve on a couple of committees and/or working groups, which meet around once each half term, and also communicate via email.

The Chair or Clerk of the Governing Body may be contacted via the school.
