At Southcott Lower School the Governors play an important role in our School Community. Their duties and functions are defined in the Instrument and Articles of Government for Schools. It is the Instrument of Government which sets out the composition and rules of procedure of Governing Bodies and the Articles of Government which, in broad terms, defines the powers and duties of these bodies.

The Governing Body meets at least once each term. It ensures the effective management of the school by working in partnership with the Headteacher. The Chair or Clerk of the Governing Body may be contacted via the school.
