Welcome to Southcott School Association.
The Southcott School Association raises funds for the benefit of all children at Southcott and brings together children, staff and parents in a social environment.
We raise around £7,000 each year for the benefit of all our children. On the first Saturday in July we hold the Summer Fair, and the Christmas Fair on the first Saturday in December. We also organise several discos during the year and various other events for children and parents
Over the past few years we have bought new staging for the Hall – you might have seen it in use for the Christmas plays. The new Environmental Workshop was kitted out by money raised at the Christmas Fair, and the school’s IT facilities have been enhanced by contributions from the Association. We also donated the wooden train in the Early Years playground and their new Story Bags.
All parents are automatically members of the Association and your help will be requested from time to time throughout the year. You could be asked to bake a cake for the Christmas Fair, staff a stall at the Summer Fair, or lend a hand at a Disco.
The Association is guided by a committee of around 16 volunteers associated with the school - parents, carers, teachers and non-teaching staff. The committee helps to plan and run events, and responds to proposals to spend the money raised. We are always open to new suggestions of how to raise money, and ideas of how to spend it for the benefit of the children.
We are also very keen to involve more parents, and other family members, in running the Association. You are very welcome to come along to a committee meeting, or perhaps you might like to help at a specific event.
If you would like to contact the Association, please leave a message at the office.
