School Association

Welcome to Southcott School Association SSA)

The Southcott School Association raises funds for the benefit of all children at Southcott and brings together children, staff and parents in a social environment.

We raise around £7,000 each year for the benefit of all our children. On the first Saturday in July we hold the Summer Fair, and the Christmas Fair on the first Saturday in December. We also organise several discos during the year and various other events for children and parents

Over the past few years we have bought staging for the Hall – you might have seen it in use for the Christmas plays. The Environmental Workshop was kitted out by money raised at the Christmas Fair, and we also donated the wooden train in the Early Years playground and their Story Bags. For the past two years we have organised a trip to the pantomime for all the children, paid for with money raised by the SSA.

The SSA is run by a committee of parents and teachers volunteering their spare time. The committee helps to plan and run events from discos to competitions and fairs, all to raise funds for our school and children. All parents are automatically members of the SSA and are welcome to attend/come to the monthly meetings. Whether you’re new to the school or have been here some time, we are always grateful for new faces to bring fresh new ideas. We will need from time to time your help to run these events, without your support with these events we will not be able to hold them.

Our meetings take place on first Monday of each month, starting at 7.30pm in the school meeting room. If you are interested in getting involved and meeting new people please come along. If you're shy bring a friend.

We also support The Giving Machine.  You can now generate free cash donations for Southcott every time you shop online. It will not cost you anything extra – the online shop pays the donation on your behalf. With over 250 families, we could raise a lot of money to support your children’s education.

There are more than 100 different shops at The Giving Machine including Amazon, Argos, eBay, Marks and Spencer, Play.com ….
