School Uniform

Our uniform is scarlet, grey and white. All children need to wear grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress (not leggings); a white blouse, shirt or polo shirt; and a scarlet jumper, cardigan or fleece.  In summer, a red and white gingham dress or shorts and a white shirt can be worn.   Depending on the weather, children will need a warm, preferably waterproof, coat.  We expect children to wear sensible shoes suitable for running around in (not boots, open-toed sandals or trainers).

For PE, children wear a white crew/round neck T shirt and red shorts together with plimsolls or trainers.  Tracksuit tops and bottoms are optional for cold weather.  The PE kit should be kept in a drawstring bag and taken home at least once each half term.   Children also need a large T shirt or apron for Art and DT.

All items of the uniform are easily available from a number of retail outlets.  Clothing and bags carrying the school logo, and red PE shorts, are available for purchase from our uniform retailer, Mapac. (https://www.mapac.com/education/parents/uniform/southcottlowerlu72ua).

Please label all items of clothing with your child’s name.  Lost property is kept in the class areas and in the hall.  Named items will be returned to their owner.

Please note, school uniform is not compulsory for children attending our Nursery or Pre-school

Jewellery is not permitted and must not be worn to school, with the exception of a single pair of stud earrings and a watch.  These must be removed for PE lessons, and if your child cannot remove their own earrings, please do not send them to school wearing earrings on PE days.  The school cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage of any items of jewellery.

Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied back to minimise the spread of head lice and for health and safety reasons in practical lessons. Wide headbands, fancy headscarves and large hair decorations should not be worn and children should  not  come into school with nail varnish or tattoos.
