At Southcott Lower School, we work hard to instil a growth mindset in all areas of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to try their best, never give up, be kind to themselves and others and understand that making mistakes helps us to learn. We believe that supporting children to take risks and develop their resilience provides an important life lesson, as well as maximising their learning and personal growth in school. We have designed our own characters to embed the concept of a growth mindset. Different elements are represented by different animal characters e.g. Practising Penguins or Respectful Rabbits. Please do take a look and talk about the characters with your child.
